What's New in Grace Library?
August 2010                                  
  • Starting out right
    Study skills, writing guides and time management books are all  just waiting for you to borrow.  See the display case by the Circulation Desk on the 2nd Floor.  
  • Welcome Carrie
    Carrie Nelson is now the Technical Services Assistant here at the library.  Carrie will help with processing and ordering new books and DVDs.  Carrie is a familiar face to Carlow - she was an intern at the library last year and recently completed her Masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
  • New Library Barcodes
    With the new Carlow ID cards come new library barcode numbers.  Use the new number on the back of your ID card to login to E-Z Borrow, RAPID ILL and the "My Account" feature of the online library catalog.  Any problems? Call 412-578-6139 or email gracelibrary@carlow.edu

  • Evidence Based Nursing
    The journal "Evidence Based Nursing" is now part of the library collection. Search in the "Find Journal Titles" list to see the  print and electronic access now offered.

  • Online Catalog Upgrade
    The library has upgraded the online catalog that you use to find books and videos here in the library!  The upgrade brings a new look to the catalog along with some behind-the-scenes improvements.  Take a look for yourself! http://bookfinder.carlow.edu

  • Read an award winner
    Now that finals are over it's time to start reading something fun!  How about one of the Pulitzer prize winning books on display at the library this month?  The Pulitzer Prize is awarded for fiction and non-fiction so there's a little something for everyone.

    The Gender Watch database contains articles which focus on the impact of gender in all subject areas.  Try it out by clicking on the Find Articles link on the library's web page and scrolling down to Gender Studies.

  • Mobile Device Access to EBSCOhost
    Find yourself doing everything using your mobile device these days?  Now you can use it to find journal articles too!  New this month is a mobile device interface for searching any EBSCOhost database.  Access it by clicking on the Off Campus Access to Library Services, logging in and selecting the link for the EBSCOhost mobile interface.

  • Welcome Jessica!
    You'll be seeing a new face at the library Circulation Desk this month.  Jessica Boudakian is the new Circulation Assistant here at Grace Library.  Some of the things that Jessica will be helping out with is the day to day running of the Circulation Desk, processing E-Z Borrow books and registering new students for library access.
